Our Murano inspired style glass has a specific composition that can create amazing colors effects when refracted by the light. It is an authentic emotion. The Murano glass in its basic composition is colorless.

The colors are obtained by adding small amounts of minerals, oxides, and chemical derivatives to the base composition of the glass powder. Colors are completely hand selected from minerals and other mediums and mixed in with glass directly during the production. Each original Murano inspired style glass item is a unique handmade artwork, with all the Italy Bella Vita style in it.

HAND BLOWN GLASS PRODUCTS
A piece begins when the glass blower reaches inside the furnace and into the crucible that is filled with clear, melted glass and gathers a layer of molten glass on the end of a steel blow pipe. Blown by mouth and formed by heat, the creations of Galilee Lighting are breathtaking in their designs, colors, and textures. Various forms of colored glass such as powders, frits and bars are used to create varied patterns and designs in the piece.
The artist takes the heated glass on the blow pipe and rolls it over the color, picking up pieces with each roll. Keeping it in constant motion it is then blown into the desired shape. The process of heating and turning is repeated many times to mold the glass into perfection. Each piece is handled with endless love and care that comes from our long relationship with glass.

In the basic glass fusing process, the object will start as multiple pieces of glass heated enough that they bond together. A typical fusing process requires the glass to be heated to about 1475 °F.

OVEN FUSE GLASS PRODUCTS
Each fusing (often several fusing’s for each piece) will take anywhere from 14 to 30 hours depending on the size and thickness of the glass. If the piece is to be formed into a shape it is placed into or over a mold made of ceramic or stainless steel, then kiln fired again.

The Art of fused formed glass is in the skill of the artisans hand and technique. In order to avoid thermal stresses in the process, the heating and cooling rates are set according to the thickness of the glass by our accomplished artist.
